Yo no he cambiado.

Había escrito ‘I just call to say I love you’…

Nadie quiere ir allá! Jajaja.

ENGLISH VERSION

METAL SYMPHONY: Hello, thank you for attending Metal Symphony, how are you?

WIGELIUS: Great ! We are in the studio right now, making the final preparations for our upcoming gig in Madrid.

MS: Congratulations for your debut album ‘Reinventions’ released recently, we are really anxious to hear it live!

W: Really inspiring to hear that ! We are really anxious to finally play it live, and what better place than Spain

MS: Talking about this album, how would you define it? For people who have not listened to it, what can they expect?

W: This album is our debut so we packed it with big chorus, big guitars and so much wigelius we could on the small amount of time we actually had..

MS: Why did you choose this title, ‘Reinventions’? Do you mean that you have ‘reinvented’ something with your sound or does it have any other special meaning for you?

W: Well, I wouldn’t say we should take credit for reinventing the AOR genre. It’s more like we made homage to all we love in this kind of music in our own way.

MS: How did you get the idea to form the band? Does the name of the band, Wigelius, mean that this is the Anders’ band or is it a puntual Frontier’s project? Are you considering to continue releasing records in the future under this name? Definitely, how do you define yourselves?

W: It kinda started as a Frontiers project, but I felt right along if I’m gonna do this I’m gonna do it with musicians I like to play and hang with, so it’s been a band from the very beginning. Considering the name of the band…50 % of the band members are named Wigelius. Sibelius, stratovarious…kinda 🙂

Why not…It’s better than Svensson or Pettersson…haha

(For Anders) MS: What meant for you your TV contest participation, how did you live the experience? Tell us about it…

W: It was a fun experience, we got coached by some of the biggest singers in Sweden. We got tons of shows like these up here in the north…So…I didn’t even have to use my bodyguard the next time I went to Mcdonalds…haha…just joking. I didn’t change me.

MS: If I’m not wrong, some of your favourite bands are Toto, Journey or Foreigner… Do you feel identified with this bands when you’re composing? Have they influenced directly in your lyrics?

W: When you’re composing a lot of what comes out is from influences in the back of your head I think. So many times you don’t even realize it. So of course we’re influenced, not to obvious I hope, nobody wants to be a copycat. A friend of mine worked a whole week with a composition, like 8 hours a day.Music, lyrics, arrangement and everything… Then he went to the shopping mall…And he heard his composition in the speakers… He had written "I just call to say I love you"….

Nobody wants to go there ! Haha !

MS: In Spain, it’s really difficult for an artist to make a living from music, often they have to combine their career with other work, related or not to the music industry, is that your case…?

W: All of us in the band have worked or works full time as musicians in different bands.

M.S: Here in Spain too, there’s not enough support and coverage to rock and metal music on TV or Radio Stations, something that doesn’t happen in Sweden. What is the response in your country to your music? We think that it’s perfect to listen to it on the radio, for example…

W: I should say that our kind of music isn’t that big over here. Harder Metal is pretty big . It doesn’t get that much coverage on the radio thou. We have a special stations for that. Often its the same 12 songs on the commercial radio. And I can’t say i’m a BELIEBER 🙂

M.S: Sweden gets bands of all kind of styles in rock/metal, how do you live this scene as a novel band?

W: Hard to tell…it’s not so many avenues to play around here… Often swedish bands travel outside the country to play gigs and they often get a bigger audience there..

MS: If you were not musicians, what other occupation would you like to do for a living?

W: Definately jobs where you have the oppurtunity to still be creative and play music.. Thats a hard question.. Does it matter as long as you still can pay rent, have time for family and a smile on your face ?

MS: This will be the first and only show in Spain, what do you expect from it and from the fans? And what can they expect from you on stage? We are sure you’re great on it… but, in general, what do you think about your live shows, taking into account that you don’t have a long experience in that matter, do you?

W: we expect to have a great time and a great gig ! We’re gonna play our hearts out ! This will be the first Wigelius gig, and we’re gonna give you everything we possibly can !

M.S: We don’t have any news of more confirmed concerts apart from this one, what are your future plans?

W: Well, we have made the debut album in 2012 so a new album is in the making…and you will get teasers from it in Madrid… Don’t miss it 🙂

MS: Finally, what would you say to your Spanish fans? Now there are really a lot of us… Thank you very much for your time and for attending Metal Symphony. We wish you all the best in your career and a lot of success with your album!

W: We are flattered to come to spain and play for you ! It’s really heartwarming !

See ya soon !
