M.S: Hola, lo primero de todo, me gustaría agradeceros por compartir vuestro tiempo con los lectores de Metal Symphony. ¿Qué tal?
Hola, muy bien, gracias. Un placer…
M.S: ¿En qué se diferencia el sonido de Scheepers con el de Primal Fear y otras cosas que habéis hecho?
Hay muchas más cosas personales que se reflejan en las letras. En lo que respecta a la música, también, se diferencia bastante en tres o cuatro canciones. Por supuesto, también cuenta con canciones que podrían haberese inlcuido fácilmente en un disco de Primal Fear, pero eso es porque yo soy el vocalista de Primal Fear y tengo mi estilo y sonido únicos al cantar…
M.S: Uno de los puntos clave de vuestro disco es tu canto. Es mucho más variado que antes. ¿Qué piensas de eso? Más experiencia, más trabajo quizás…
¡Gracias! Si, más experiencia y, de alguna forma, también el hecho de que grabo por mi cuenta en casa y mi propia quality gate??? Es realmente buena, ya que, de alguna manera, soy un perfeccionista… ¡Canto hasta que me gusta! 🙂
M.S: ¿Por qué fue en este preciso momento lo de hacer un disco en solitario?
¡Siempre es el momento exacto de hacer esto! J Contaba con suficientes canciones, gracias a Mat Sinner, Magnus Karlsson, Sander Gommans, Alex Beyrodt y a mi… ¡Así que fue el preciso momento de lanzarlo! 🙂
M.S: Tienes a Tim Owens en el disco. ¿Cómo surgió la idea de hacer este dúo?
De hecho, ya conocía a Tim de hace años y siempre pensé que sería fantástico unir fuerzas una vez… funcionó de lujo para Remission Of Sin y espero poder volver a hacer algo con él en el futuro.
M.S: Al ser un grupo de metal, ¿cómo es tu relación con Frontiers Records? Ya que son conocidos por ser un gran sello discográfico de Rock Melódico…
Están haciendo un buen trabajo para mí y nunca me han venido con la idea de cambiar cosas en mi música, tampoco lo hicieron para Primal Fear. Confían en nosotros, los músicos, y eso es algo bueno. No importa que estén sacando diferentes estilos de música, ¡también son fans del metal y eso mola!
M.S: ¿Hay planes de dar conciertos o hacer una gira para promocionar el disco en solitario?
No hay tiempo de hacerlo ahora mismo, ya que estamos trabajando duro en nuestro próximo disco de Primal Fear. Pero nunca digas de esta agua no beberé… veremos qué nos depara el futuro.
M.S: ¿Cómo va el próximo disco de Primal Fear?
Estamos en la fase de composición y ya hemos tenemos siete canciones… De verdad, te puedo decir que, ¡va a ser un disco fabuloso! Ya se me pone la piel de gallina cuando escucho las canciones que, ahora mismo, son todavía demos.
M.S: ¿Tienes ya una idea para el próximo disco de Scheepers o ya lo has pensado de antemano?
Seguiré haciéndome con material y veremos qué pasa… la prioridad máxima siempre será Primal Fear.
M.S: Bueno, ya no tenemos más preguntas, pero si quieres decir algo a los fans españoles, ésta es tu oportunidad.
España siempre ha sido algo especial para mí y creo que puedo decirlo en nombre de todos los miembros de Primal Fear. ¡Los fans son muy fieles y lo dan todo en un concierto! ¡Impresionante!

Hi, I’m doing well thank you! It’s a pleasure….
M.S: How does the sound of Scheepers differ from Primal Fear and other stuff you’ve done?
There are a lot of more personal things going on in the lyrics. Music wise it differs quiet a lot on 3-4 songs, too. Of course there are also songs on it which could be easily on an Primal Fear album but that’s because I am the vocalist of Primal Fear and I have my unique style and sound of singing….
M.S: One of the high point on your album is your singing. It’s a lot more varied than ever before. What do you think about that? More experience, more work maybe…
Thank you! Yes, more experience and somehow also the fact that I am recording on my own at home and my own quality gate is a real tough one, as I am somehow a perfectionist….I sing until I like it! 🙂
M.S: Why was this the right moment to do a solo album?
It’s always the right moment to do this! 🙂 I had enough songs together, thanks to Mat Sinner, Magnus Karlsson, Sander Gommans, Alex Beyrodt and myself…
So the time was right to release da thing! 🙂
M.S: You have Tim Owens on the album. How did you get the idea to do this duet?
Actually I got to know Tim many years ago and I always though that it would be cool to join forces once….it worked superb for Remission Of Sin and I hope that we can do something together again in the future.
M.S: Being a Metal band, what is your relationship with Frontiers Records like? Since they are known for being the big Melodic Rock label…
They are doing a great job for me and they never came up to change something on my music , also not for Primal Fear. They trust us musicians and that’s a cool thing. No matter if they are releasing different styles of music, tgey are alo metal fans and that’s a great thing!
M.S: Are there any plans to do live shows or a tour to support the solo album?
There is no time to do this at the moment as we are working hard on our next Primal Fear CD. But never say never that this will not happen….. we might see what the future brings.
M.S: What’s the status of the next Primal Fear album?
We are in the writing phase and have collected 7 songs already…. I can really tell you, it’s gonna be an amazing album! I have goose bumps already when I listen to the tracks which are still demos right now.
M.S: Do you have an idea already for your Scheepers next album or have you thought that far ahead yet?
I will keep collecting material and we will see what will happen…….top priority will always be Primal Fear
M.S: Well we have no more questions for you , but if you want to say something to Spanish fans, it´s your oportunity.
Spain has always been something special to me and I think I can say that on behalf of all Primal Fear members. The fans are very true and are very much into it during a show! Awesome!!!
